Expat English Teacher
Orient Software is seeking a passionate and experienced English Language Specialist to elevate the communication capabilities of our engineering and delivery teams. In the IT outsourcing industry, clear communication is just as critical as writing great code. In this role, you will take ownership of our internal English programs, focusing heavily on equipping our staff with the speaking skills needed for direct client negotiations, technical demos, and daily stand-ups. Responsibilities
- Curriculum Design & Execution: Create, customize, and deliver high-impact English training content. Your primary focus will be dramatically enhancing the spoken English proficiency and confidence of our IT staff (Software Engineers, Quality Control Engineers, etc.). · Language Assessment: Conduct comprehensive new hires, baseline, mid-term, and final language assessments to evaluate learner progress and identify specific areas for phonetic or conversational improvement.
- Learning Culture Development: Host English clubs, sharing sessions to encourage learning mindset and motivation.
- Learner Support & Coaching: Act as a language mentor. Develop personalized learning paths based on employees’ roles and communication requirements. Support employees with pronunciation coaching, and curated self-study resources.
- Tracking & Reporting: Maintain highly accurate and up-to-date learning records, tracking attendance, assessment scores, homework completion, e-learning progress and overall progress within our system.
- Program Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of language programs. Use feedback and performance data to continuously iterate and improve course materials.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Department Heads, Project Managers, and the broader L&D team to identify team-specific communication bottlenecks and align training with project demands.
- Other: Other assigned tasks by BOD and Learning & Development Manager.
Requirements
- Experience: 4–5 years of proven experience in Corporate English Training, or Adult ESL Education (experience training professionals in the IT/Software industry is a massive advantage).
- Language Proficiency: Native English speaker.
- Teaching Expertise: Strong, proven ability to engage adult learners and facilitate interactive training sessions. A recognized teaching certification (CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Digital Fluency: Expertise in utilizing online teaching tools and platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, interactive whiteboards, and digital polling/quizzing tools) to deliver engaging classrooms, both online and offline.
- Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, patience, openness, positiveness and the ability to motivate technical professionals who may be hesitant or shy about speaking a second language; detail-oriented and time-management skills.
