Finance Manager – Group Operations
Position Overview
The Finance Manager – Group Operations plays a key leadership role in managing financial governance, compliance, and performance across all entities of the group. Reporting to the COO, this role requires a professional who combines structured analytical capability with commercial acumen and cross-cultural understanding. The ideal candidate embodies an Investigative–Conventional–Enterprising mindset: methodical and precise, intellectually curious, and strategically influential. You will lead the existing experienced team through a period of digital transformation (Phase 1) — modernizing systems, automating key processes, and developing the finance function into a scalable hub that enables the company’s next phase of growth (Phase 2). In Phase 1 your role will primarily be hands-on, then transitioning to a more strategic leadership role as systems, processes, and the team develop and as the company moves into Phase 2.
Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Management
- Oversee all accounting, financial operations, and reporting activities across subsidiaries and o ices.
- Lead monthly consolidation, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and relevant statutory requirements.
- Maintain financial discipline, transparency, and internal controls across all group entities.
- Partner with the COO to align financial structures with operational and commercial objectives.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Drive group budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Deliver analytical insight that supports executive decision-making and operational e iciency.
- Evaluate business performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability, productivity, and cost allocation.
- Support strategic initiatives including new business lines, partnerships, and capital investments.
Digital Transformation of the Finance Function
- Lead the evolution of finance into a systems-driven, data-centric, and automated function.
- Identify and implement modern tools, workflows, and process automation opportunities to enhance scalability and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the COO and IT teams to integrate finance data with broader business intelligence platforms.
- Establish metrics and dashboards that enable real-time visibility of group financial performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team of three specialists, while identifying opportunities to recruit additional members for strategic positions.
- Foster a learning culture that encourages analytical thinking, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Align team performance with group objectives, ensuring each member develops cross-functional awareness and technical competence.
Governance & Risk Management
- Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with audit, tax, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and manage risks associated with operational expansion, multi-entity transactions, and financial reporting.
- Support policy development and governance procedures consistent with international best practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (CPA, ACCA, or Chief Accountant Certificate preferred).
- 7–10 years of financial management experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience overseeing finance operations for multi-entity or multi-location organizations in Vietnam.
- Deep knowledge of accounting, financial controls, and statutory compliance under Vietnamese law.
- Demonstrated experience leading system or process modernization projects or contributing to digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication ability in English.
